The Malta Gaming Authority data leak story takes an unexpected turn. Responsibility for the incident has been claimed by German «ethical hacker» Lilith Wittmann, adding even more resonance and questions to the situation.
According to Wittmann, she is behind the recent hack of the regulator’s systems. The statement appeared in a sharp and at times provocative post on LinkedIn, published on Friday, March 20. However, the post was soon removed by the platform, which only heightened interest in the events.
In her address, the hacker did not limit herself to an admission. She hinted at more serious issues within the regulator, stating that its actions could have contributed to «creating conditions for organized crime schemes.» The wording was quite vague but sparked a strong reaction in the industry.
