The most unfortunate month for an SEO specialist’s vacation?

Since my last study in 2023, Google has rolled out a multitude of new updates.

I have updated the data: I reviewed the entire history of Google updates from 2002 to the present, and these months have the highest likelihood of disruption in search results:

• June (12 updates)
• October (10 updates)
• March (9 updates)
• August (9 updates)

As before, I checked the list of Google updates provided by Sistrix, as well as the official log of the Google Search Status Dashboard up to the March Spam Update 2026, and recounted the number of updates by month.

Here is the complete current list:

• November — 7

• February — 5
• April — 4

• January — 3

(Note: some paired updates launched in one month — for example, Core + Spam or large updates in multiple phases — were counted as separate, as they are recorded in different lines in the official logs).

So next time, approach the timing of your vacation very responsibly, especially if you plan to take a break in early summer or mid-autumn!
