Issues with Age Verification When Purchasing Alcohol

I bought gin today at a local store… I grabbed a couple of tonics and a seventh gin, went to the self-checkout… I scanned it, and the register told me — you can verify your age through the Max messenger linked to government services, or something like that, or wait for the cashier… I almost reached for my phone, but then remembered I don’t have Max on my phone, so I calmly waited for the cashier and picked up my stuff… What I’m getting at is, they’ve started targeting the most vulnerable part of the population, the alcoholics!

Imagine, you’re standing there with a terrible hangover, your hands are shaking, your legs are weak, the desired remedy is almost in your hands, but… damn, there’s no cashier, and to verify your age you need Max… I think many alcoholics will break down and install it, just to get their drink.

In short, if this continues and you need the Max messenger to buy a drink, I’ll have to switch strictly to homemade liquor!
