Пограничные силы Таиланда 21 января задержали 14 тайских граждан (9 мужчин и 5 женщин) при попытке нелегально пересечь границу в тайской провинции Са Каео. Задержанные признались, что работали на неназванного iGaming-оператора в Камбодже и обслуживали несколько его брендов. По их словам, в ноябре 2025г им предложили работу через Facebook с зарплатой ~$700 в месяц и переправили в камбоджийский город Бавет, где работодатели систематически штрафовали их за невыполнение плана и применяли физическое насилие, после чего те предприняли попытку побега.
Для возможности переправки обратно в Таиланд они заплатили по ~$70 посреднику из Пойпета, который обещал встретить их на тайской стороне с транспортом, однако вместо него там оказалась полиция. Задержанных передали в полицейский участок Кхлонг Нам Сай.
