Alibaba's WAN 2.6 is out - let's break down what's new.
WAN 2.6 has already been rolled out, although the official release will only be tomorrow. The model is already available on playgrounds and on the official Wan website.
Video up to 15 seconds. WAN 2.6 makes videos up to 15 seconds in 1080p. Works with text, images, and reference videos.
In reference-to-video mode, you can upload up to three videos so that characters and objects don't «drift» from scene to scene.
Sound. You can upload your own audio. Normal sound synchronization with video is claimed, and more accurate lip-sync, not just timing alignment.
Images. WAN 2.6 is not just about video. There is generation and editing of images. The model works well with text on images: headlines, captions, interfaces, posters.
Where to test? On the Wan website, they give 150 credits, 15 seconds of video costs 30 credits.
