Operator William Hill (Evoke Plc.) has mistakenly credited millions of pounds to customers' accounts

A technical problem with jackpot functionality led to winnings being erroneously credited to dozens of accounts.

Users rushed to share the news on social networks. Journalists of the publication NEXT. io found screenshots in X, on which the balance of one account reached £236k, and the other one £142k.

The exact scale of the problem is unknown, but we're talking millions of pounds, some of which players managed to withdraw before their accounts were blocked.

Now William Hill is trying to find these customers and return the funds. In the newsletter, the company officially demanded the return of the erroneously accrued money and provided bank details. It was also noted that clause 8 of the terms and conditions allows to cancel transactions, adjust account balances and recover funds paid in error.

The letter also proposed a «commercial solution»: customers are allowed to keep 11% of the withdrawn amount as a goodwill gesture.
