The Pennsylvania regulator fined BetMGM $100,000 for KYC violations.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board imposed a $100,000 fine on operator BetMGM after serious deficiencies were found in customer identification (KYC) procedures.
According to the regulator, weak verification mechanisms allowed fraudulent activities to be carried out on the company’s online platforms for an extended period. In particular, criminals were able to create multiple accounts using stolen or fake personal data and payment methods.
In addition to the fine, the agency added 16 individuals to the list of mandatory exclusions, strengthening measures to protect users and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
